Common Mistake of First-Time Homebuyers
SP
One of the most common mistakes first-time homebuyers make is feeling pressure to buy a “forever home” right away, planning for future kids, space, and a life that hasn’t happened yet.

Through my years as Mortgage Specialist/Advisor, I’ve seen how this often leads to over-stretching financially. That stress shows up in long nights worrying about money, fewer opportunities for recreation or social activities, and strain that slowly erodes the relationship itself.
Over the past 10 years specifically, the idea of the “starter home” has faded as prices rose and expectations changed, but the principle remains and still matters.
A starter home isn’t a compromise.
It’s a strategic first step that builds equity, protects lifestyle, relationships, and keeps options open, by buying for the life you’re living now, not the one you’re projecting far into the future.
